A series of fruitful achievements in agricultural research and development have been made. We have 10 domestic patents, 33 registered plant variety rights in Taiwan, 1 United States patent , and 4 registered plant variety rights in Japan. The revenues from technology transfer have reached a total at NT$ 54,575,000. According to the national performance evaluations of agricultural technology development, our Station was ranked as the most productive and profitable agricultural research institute from 2003 to 2013. We also pioneered international licensing of plant varieties and techniques developed by the public sector. Successful licensing of eggplant "Kaohsiung 2", Indian jujube "Kaohsiung 6", mango "Kaohsiung 3", vegetable soybean "Kaohsiung 6", "Kaohsiung 7", "Kaohsiung 8", "Kaohsiung 9", and the "tissue culture technology for papaya seedling propagation" has encouraged international licensing of more agricultural research outcomes. This has contributed to the internationalization of agricultural research in Taiwan.
